    asian twist interior

    asian twist interior

Asian Twist Fusion Restaurant the cool exterior look of this resto magnetized us to try this newly opened resto in the metro.  Using a cool mint green color truly attracts one to enter the establishment.  With their glass window you will easily noticed what’s happening inside, a cool concept along N.S. Amoranto st. (formerly known as Retiro).  We were greeted by their well-dressed and friendly staff.  I find their interior ambiance very neat, with white walls and white dining area, though their airconditioning system at the ground floor was not quite cool you’ll find it freezing at the second floor.

    california maki

    california maki

California maki, sushi rice with fresh mango, cucumber, kani drizzled with citrus mustard sauce.  Their version was satisfying!  You’ll easily tasted that they really used japanese rice for it sticks together and they never scrimp on orange fish eggs, which i loved most in california maki.   Price at P135.00.  A rating of 5/5.

    khalbi beef stew

    khalbi beef stew

Khalbi beef stew, beef ribs stewed in soy served with tempura wedge saba.  A really juicy beef and find it unique for they put banana(saba) on a beef stew.  I find joy with this sauce it was really tasty and once you’ve tasted the beef you’ll know it was cooked through a slow cooker (crock pot) for it has retained the taste of the beef.  Price at P275.00.  A rating of 5/5.

    crispy tilapia fillet

    crispy tilapia fillet

Crispy tilapia fillet, pan seared tilapia fillet with green pea salad served with glazed apple wedge.  The tilapia was crispy, and deep fried at the right temperature not too crispy nor half cooked, the bed of salad was drizzled with vinaigrette, and they put cinnamon on  apple wedges.  Unexpected combination keep coming our way here at Asian Twist.    Price at P175.00.  A rating of 3/5.

    korean beef barbecue

    korean beef barbecue

Korean beef barbecue, sliced grilled beef barbecue, kimchi, cochijang, togue, spinach, fresh garlice, romaine lettuce and barbecue sauce.  Their version of korean beef barbecue was tasty and not salty as the picture seems to look like, and another cool concept for this dish is you will wrap the korean beef in romaine lettuce put some kimchi, togue, cochijiang, spinach, fresh garlic and top it off with barbecue sauce before you wrap it around just like wrapping a lumpia.  Price at P225.00.  A rating of 4/5.

    grilled barbecue pork ribs

    grilled barbecue pork ribs

Grilled barbecue pork ribs, 2 racks of grilled ribs on top of tossed sesame dressing vegetable salad with fried saba on side price at P225.00.  You will taste the marinated pork up until its bone, we were amazed as to how they taught to combine banana saba with this dish it jive though.  Don’t forget to top it off with the gravy sauce provided for a more delicious pork ribs you’ve ever tasted.  A rating of 5/5.

    chicken barbecue

    chicken barbecue

Chicken barbecue, boneless chicken barbecue in bed of salad served with crispy kamote fries price at P175.00.  Find this dish just a little ordinary like the rest of the resto who offers Chicken Barbecue, but the plating is astonishing.  It was not salty nor sweet, they used a perfect blend of marinade sauce and the twist for this dish?  the kamote fries used.  A rating of 4/5.

    soft fish

    soft fish

Soft fish, pan seared fish served with fresh mango and creamy assorted mushroom price at P395.00.  This is the most sought dish (seafood) here in Asian Twist as we’ve been informed by the servers.  It was SOFT fish, and yet it is tasty.  At first, I thought this will be a simple and typical steamed or baked fish, but it was not!  You’ll never stop eating their soft fish,  maybe because of the white sauce used it was creamy and delectable.  Different kind of recipe indeed!  A rating of 5/5.

grilled chicken crepe in white sauce

grilled chicken crepe in white sauce

Grilled Chicken Crepe in White Sauce, a grilled chicken fillet wrap in crepe baked in cheese and white sauce.  You won’t believed such dish will exist!  A different approach to crepe, this version seems like lasagna but they used chicken fillet instead and the amount of cheese used was truly satisfying, that is if you like cheese!  At the price of P165.00.  A rating of 5/5 for this dish.

Overall my Asian Twist Fusion experienced was 5/5.

    grilled mozzarella set

    grilled mozzarella set

The exterior of the restaurant is simple but clean.  We were convinced by the dine-in promotion posted outside their resto, guided by their staff we were comfortably seated at the couch and was handed a menu.  Their staff were friendly and  knowledgeable of what dish do they offer and serve.  We were amazed with their set menu at an affordable price.

Grilled Mozzarella set, a combo meal with toasted mozzarella cheese on bread, butter, garlic and a pasta carbonara.  I was shocked as how small their serving were and was disappointed that their mozzarella set was almost just like a french toast.  But then we were too hungry to complain so we dig in, and to our surprise it was not bad after all.  Pasta was cooked al dente, though a little bland for a typical carbonara but the bread is really crunchy and gooey  because of the mozzarella.  Maybe if they served more of the pasta carbonara, as we have expected, a serving of this combo meal set is enough for one.  A rating of 3/5 for this dish.

    menu rimini mare

menu rimini mare - pasta scampi

Menu rimini mare with pasta scampi seafood version of pasta.  Pasta cooked al dente, and the red sauce used were really an italian style with shrimps.  Perfect who seeks vegetable pasta, for they used italian sauce not that sweet nor sour perfect blend.  Served  with pita bread on the side price at 225.00.  A rating of  4/5.

    cream of celery soup

    Zuppa del giorno

Zuppa del giorno, soup of the day then was Cream of celery soup.   The soup was served hot and it was really creamy with a hint of celery taste topped with croutons, price at P70.00.  A rating of 4/5.

    pasta carbonara

    pasta carbonara

Pasta Carbonara with bacon and light cream sauce, quite bland for a typical carbonara.  There’s not much cream and milk to the sauce, tasted more of the pasta itself, for the price of 170.  A rating of 3/5.

    holy cow

    holy cow

We were attracted by the menu gallery displayed outside the store, and so we decided to have a Holy Cow! experienced.   We were guided to our preferred seats and were given a menu.  They have wooden seats and couch were also available.  Trayliners and utensils were immediately provided but no one’s prepared to get our orders.  To our dismayed, crews were not that attentive to your needs.

    county mushroom soup

    county mushroom soup

For starters, we had County Mushroom Soup, mushroom soup with bread sticks price price at P85.00.  A different version of mushroom soup, but to our dismayed it was a bit salty and seems like they put soysauce to it.  It’s  not that creamy and not that hot for a soup.   I give this 2/5.

    creamy clam chowder

    creamy clam chowder

Creamy Clam Chowder, creamy soup with clams and parmesan bread sticks price price at P75.00.  Now this is creamy and yes you can truly taste the clams in this soup.  Truly a clam chowder alright.  I give this 5/5.

    cowboy combo platter

    cowboy combo platter

Cowboy Combo Platter, breaded chicken tenders, onion ring and barbeque flavored fries price at P295.00.  I can say we were awed when this dish was served on our table, huge serving!  Onion rings has lots of breading good for me for i like it that way, while chicken tenders more on chicken skin than chicken meat, fries were salted and tasted good.  I give this 4/5.

    superb creamy cheese carbonara

    superb creamy cheese carbonara

Superb creamy cheese carbonara solo price at P145.00, regular price at P265.00.  I love this dish! It is creamy and the bacon were crunchy good together, and they don’t scrimp on cheese!  The name of the dish itself speaks for itself Superb!  I give this 5/5.

    lonestar grilled porkchops

    lonestar grilled porkchops

Lonestar Grilled Porkchop served with roasted apple gravy price at P220.00.  Their porkchop were juicy, and more lean meat were served.  I like porkchop with typical gravy taste than with apple gravy.  Steamed vegetables were crunchy and cooked just right.  I give this 3/5.

    running iron chicken barbeque

    running iron chicken barbeque

Running Iron Chicken Barbeque, chicken quarter served with sweet hickory barbeque sauce price at P220.00.  Can’t wait to chow down this dish.  Their chicken barbeque were juicy but find it more sour taste than sweetness too much marination?  Corn on the cob were crunchy which i find it perfect!  The rice is a bit dry though.  I give this 4/5.

    mashed potatoes

    mashed potatoes

Mashed Potatoes price at P45.00.  Their version of mashed potatoes were not fully mashed and not creamy.  I find it dry with chunks of potatoes in every spoonful bite.  I give this 3/5.

    citrus black tea

    citrus black tea

Citrus Black Tea,  ceylon tea with citrus fruit extract price at P65.00.  A different version of ice tea, taste like brewing a tea then add some ice voila! citrus black tea!   I give this 4/5.

    white grape tea

    white grape tea

White Grape Tea, white tea with grape juice and fresh grapes price at P65.00.  You’ll definitely taste the hint of grape with ice tea it was refreshing but sweet.  I give this 4/5.

Overall, I give Holy Cow! Steak Ranch and American Grill a 3/5 for the service, food and ambience.

Another great place to have a good western meal is TGI Fridays.  One thing I really appreciate when I visit TGI Fridays are the antique memorabilia hanged on the walls, it makes you feel like your in another place and another time. The restaurant is kid friendly as they provide color and coloring pages to keep the kids busy. Lamps are used to light each table, and the aircon is cold enough to keep the restaurant cool. There are TV screens on different sections of the restaurant to keep you entertained while having your meal.

    cajun shrimp and chicken pasta

For pasta lovers, the Cajun shrimp and chicken pasta is a must try dish at TGI fridays.  Fettuccine pasta is used in thick creamy spicy alfredo sauce, with red bell pepper in cajun butter and parmesan cheese. The pasta noodle is cooked al dente with lots of chicken and shrimp pieces in it. The dish is very tasty, serving size is just about average for the price. Price at P535.00.  However, eating this pasta dish on your own will bloat you easily, this is just perfect for sharing. I give this dish a 5/5.

baby back ribs with barbeque sauce

baby back ribs with barbeque sauce

Another best seller from  TGI Fridays is the Baby back ribs.  Served with barbeque sauce and french fries. The meat is very tender and you do not need much effort to separate the meat from the bone.   Indeed, one of the best ribs i’ve tasted. The fries has too much salt though but its not much on an issue.  Taste for this dish is very good but it is a bit pricey for its category. Price if half slab P595.00, full slab P990.00.

    apple shake

    apple shake

For the drink, we had Apple shake price at P150.00. Rich apple shake served really cold, perfect for kids, its healthy and refreshing.

    strawberry iced tea

    strawberry iced tea

We also ordered Strawberry iced tea price atP125.00, you should try this iced tea. Best if served with lots and lots of ice. Its like strawberry candy in liquid form. And the taste is not too sweet at all.

Overall I give TGI fridays a 5/5.  Price is a bit high but good food is what you get.

    cafe breton

    cafe breton

Craving for crepes?  Cafe Breton is the place.  May it be as your main meal or as your dessert you can count on them.  The ambience is so serene for us that’s why we were in awe upon entering the resto.  Staff immediately escorted us into our seats, where candle lights on each tables, with a mini vase and a fresh flower.  Staffs here were very friendly, neat and quick to everyone’s needs as i have noticed.

crepe with veal sausage, mushroom and bechamel sauce

crepe with veal sausage, mushroom and bechamel sauce

For our main course, we had Crepe with veal sausage, mushroom and bechamel sauce price at P177.50.  This dish is a winner for me, since i love white sauce, bechamel sauce is the substitute for that, i chose veal sausage for it is a lighter version of all sausages for me so i could still accommodate dessert.  Veal sausage is lighter in taste, than any other sausage that I know of.  Not that tasty that could eat up your taste palette and would devour the tastes of all the ingredients present in your crepe.  Mushroom and bechamel sauce are good together with veal sausage.  I give this dish a rating of 4/5.

crepe with ham, mushroom, and bechamel sauce

crepe with ham, mushroom, and bechamel sauce

Then another main course, Crepe with ham, mushroom and bechamel sauce price at P152.50.  Noticed that one would opt to order a lighter main dish rather than being bloated and leaving Cafe Breton without tasting their sweet crepes?  For you’ll miss a lot then.  Another lighter main course to choose from wherein safer for you to have some space for sweet crepes.  I give this dish a rating of 4/5.

    galette americain

    galette americain

Galette americain consists of beef patty, sunny side-up egg, tomato provencal, mushrooms and mushroom sauce at P221.50.  Instead of Crepe, I ordered galette to taste their wheat version.  I find it alright but I like crepe more.  The tomato provencal evens out the taste of the meat and eggs present in this dish, most especially having a mushroom sauce, another creamy version of sauce that they offers.  I give this dish a rating of 3/5.

    crepe with strawberries and cream

    crepe with strawberries and cream

For Dessert, Crepe with strawberries and cream, strawberries preserve in syrup with cream, ice cream topped with whipped cream at P217.25.  I have a sweet tooth that night, but then was surprised that strawberries preserved were way too sweet for me,  most especially if you put chocolate syrup on top.  Too sweet for me.  a rating of 3/5.

    adam and eve

    adam and eve

Another round of dessert, Adam & Eve, stewed apples with cinnamon and vanilla ice cream at P195.00.  Sweet and sour taste of apples are perfect together with cinnamon powder… delicious!   Love their vanilla ice cream, also with a hint of cinnamon on top.  a rating of 5/5.

    mango crepe

    mango crepe

A create-your-own Mango Crepe without the chocolate syrup and without the cream.  Suited for those who crave a simple dessert crepe but afraid of too sweet.  This dessert is only a combination of crepe, sliced fresh mangoes, coffee ice cream on top and a dash of confectioner’s sugar price at P125.00.   A rating of 5/5 from me.

    banana split

    banana split

Banana Split, split banana with a scoop of chocolate, strawberry, vanilla ice cream, with walnuts, whipped cream, cherries and with a combination of chocolate and strawberry syrup.  A dessert suited for those who has sweet tooth I can say.   Price at P170.00.  A rating of 4/5.

    cafe liegeois

    cafe liegeois

Cafe Liegois, pronounced as leej-wah, a cold espresso with coffee ice cream, whipped cream and chocolate sauce price at P120.00 if decaf P130.00.  This seems to be just like a cold coffee with coffee ice cream.  And it’s not that sweet to my taste.  A true winner for those who craves for a dessert.  A rating of 5/5 from me.
